  "BYE BYE"

A short note from
Richard and Linda!

It's been fun and it's been real, but there is a time and a season for everything.  That's basically what we have been telling our fellow vendors and show promoters as we've travelled this past year exhibiting and selling our work at art shows, craft markets, flower shows, flea markets, and on and on.

That's really been our life for the past 20 years and it has served us well.  BUT - you see, there was this old building in Carmine, Texas calling our name!  Last October we became the proud owners of a 1906 general store/saloon right on Highway 290 - located midway between Houston and Austin.  Thus ends our life as travelling salespeople.

Richard and I have spent the past year collecting and buying great, different, unique and whimsy stuff for our "customers to be."  And, while about 70% of the items we sell will be our own work, we are super excited about the artists we are representing.  NO NAMES BEING RELEASED - shh!!  YOU MUST VISIT OUR STORE and see what's new for you!

It's so hard to describe what we "HOPE" our store will "BE"... so let's sum it up like this:

Texas Trash and Treasures in Carmine, Texas

  Rust, dust and unnecessary stuff

  Not what you would expect

A new kind of old store

  Prepare to be surprised

  A great experience

  A fun place to shop

  Worth the drive

A place you will want to come back to

You will tell all your friends

  Clever and unique

A happy place, everyone can't help but smile!

  ALWAYS SOMETHING NEW...

Richard and Linda promise to bring you "GREAT STUFF!"

Can't wait to meet and see you all... visit us on GRAND OPENING DAY!

  WORK

"You never outgrow selling at the smallest flea market."

Richard and Linda Hamilton have been bending and welding steel since 1988.  Their work is created by hand and many pieces are one-of-a-kind. They describe their style as whimsical, fun and uncommon.  Most pieces have a horticultural flare, but the couple enjoys the "folky-country" look as well.

Most of the material they work with is "new."  However, they incorporate old metal and tin whenever found.  Check out 100 year old barn ...

Annually, Texas Trash & Treasures participates in over 20 shows throughout the country.  You can find them at a variety of venues, including flea markets, craft shows, wholesale markets - and the biggest flower show in America!  Recently, Texas Trash won 2nd Place for booth design at the Philadelphia Flower Show.

  FAITH

"We are definitely on a journey, learning daily how to "deny self" and "grow up" as believers."

The Gospel was introduced to Richard and Linda in 1992.  They accepted Jesus as their Savior at that time - "personal" savior, that is!

They are members of Oak Street Baptist Church in Elizabethton, TN.

Richard and Linda hope to one day be involved in a "serious" ministry - maybe hiring felons to work who might otherwise have a tough time finding employment (just a thought).

  FAMILY

Proud parents of four grown children and four grandchildren.

  VISION

"The life of a nomad - it is getting old!"

Perhaps a store?  The couple has been searching for the perfect "quirky" location for over two years.  "We're not giving up.  We believe it is in Texas, somewhere!"

Maybe the new store will be called ...
FUNKY TOWNE, a collection of Texas Trash and Treasures. Shhh!
